Anita Lemieux, MSW
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

As a Child and Family Therapist I work with children aged 2 to 18.  I am also a  practitioner of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, a short term, empirically supported therapy for children ages 3-7 that focuses on parent-child attunement and bonding, and provides parents with specific techniques for enhancing their child’s self-esteem, improving parent-child communication and decreasing disruptive and oppositional behaviors in young children.

My professional background includes administering youth programs and providing counseling and advocacy for women and their children impacted by domestic violence. I received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington in 2003 and subsequently completed a Post-Master’s Fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center where I trained in developmental evaluations and in child, adolescent and family therapy.

When indicated, I can provide information and referrals for more thorough developmental testing. I work with children and youth through play, art, talk, and family therapy. I feel very privileged to be associated with the members of Collaborative Family Therapy.
